Guiding Definition
Regionalization is defined as the collaborative sharing of services, resources, and ideas among districts to maximize student access to opportunities, ensure equity, and support students and families. This approach aims to remove barriers, be fiscally responsible, and leverage strengths for the benefit of the community. It involves planning and facilitating equitable services, identifying needs and resources, and working together to address gaps and support educational programs. The definition aligns with the New York State Education Department's (NYSED) definition and emphasizes problem-solving and partnership opportunities.
